 1st Colchester Scout Group offers scouting for all age groups, we have a long history of providing activities for all ages.

We can trace our origins back to before 1908 which is when we became a Scout Group, before this the group operated as The St Georges institute for young men.  This makes 1st Colchester Scouts one of the oldest Scout groups in the Britain.

1st Colchester Scout Group is unlike other scout groups in Colchester as we have been recognised by the Royal Air Force since 1954.  RAF recognition is a great honour. This recognition is earned every 18 months and involves many tasks but the main part is a Inspection by the RAF of the Scout section, during this inspection we show the officer what we have been doing in the last 18 months and what we do at Troop meetings.
